Gham-e-Madinah مراسلہ: 3 نومبر 2008 Report Share مراسلہ: 3 نومبر 2008 Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam An article which fascinated me that I had to share, taken from Faizaneraza.org a long read but worth it! The five fingers of your right hand are given to you to remind you to keep the Blessed Five as guides: Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, and his four companions Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman and 'Ali Radi Allahu anhum's, and to honor what they hold as truth. When Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala created our father Hazrat Adam alayhis 'salam, He placed the light of Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, His first creation, on Hazrat Adam alayhis 'salam's forehead. When the angels encountered Hazrat Adam alayhis 'salam, they paid respect and greeted that light, but Hazrat Adam alayhis 'salam was dismayed, being unable to see the divine light of Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam shining on his own forehead. So he prayed to his Maker saying: O my Lord, I would love to see the soul-light of Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, Your Beloved, whom You will bring to Earth as one of my future sons. So please move it from my forehead to where I might see. So Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala accepted his prayers, and a spark of the divine light shone from the tip of Hazrat Adam alayhis 'salam 's index finger. He raised it and said: I witness that there is no god but Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and I witness that Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam is His servant and messenger. That is why the index finger is called "the beautiful one" and is lifted in confirmation of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala's oneness and uniqueness in Islam. Then Hazrat Adam alayhis 'salam asked his Maker: O Lord, will there be any of Your divine light left in me for the birth of other chosen ones? And the Lord said: Yes. Then Hazrat Adam alayhis 'salam saw the light of Hazrat 'Ali Radi Allahu anhushining from the tip of his thumb, the light of Hazrat Abu Bakr Radi Allahu anhu on his middle finger, the light of 'Hazrta Umar Radi Allahu anhu on his right finger, and the light of 'Hazrat Uthman Radi Allahu anhu on his little finger. Thus Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala placed these on the tips of the five fingers of your right hand to remind you of them and to make no distinction between them, nor between them and our Master Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, as Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala sets them all together: Now the five fingers of your other hand are there to remind you of the five members of the Prophet's household: Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, 'Hazrat Ali Radi Allahu anhu, Hazrat Fatimah Radi Allahu anha, Hazrat Hasan Radi Allahu anhu and Hazrat Husayn Radi Allahu anhu, from whom Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala cleansed all impurity, as He says: Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'alaonly desires to take away all uncleanness from you, O people of the household, and to purify you a thorough purifying. (Surah Ahzab, 33) And the Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam said: This verse is about us, our household--about me, and 'Ali Radi Allahu anhu, and Fatimah Radi Allahu anha, and Hasan Radi Allahu anhu and Husayn Radi Allahu anhu.
