Gham-e-Madinah مراسلہ: 5 اگست 2008 Report Share مراسلہ: 5 اگست 2008 (ترمیم شدہ) Jannat Ountni (Heavenly she-camel) This includes the benefits of the exalted month of Sh’aban-mu’azam and other faith enlightening incidents. Heavenly she-camel. The king of Madeenah, the Holy Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) is reported to have said which ever believer keeps three fasts in the month of sh’aban and at the time of breaking fast (iftaar) sends durood shareef upon me three times, his sins will be forgiven, he will gain blessing (barakat) in his earnings and on the day of Qiyamat Allah (Azawajal) will make him ride on a heavenly she-camel and riding this he will enter paradise (Jannat). [Taken from fazail-e-shab-e-baraat] Subhanallah, one be sacrificed at the mercy of Allah (Azawajal). How kind is Allah (Azawajal) on the slaves of his last Messenger (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) If it is possible all Islamic brothers and sisters should try to fast for the whole month of Sh’aban, if not then fast most of the days and if this is not possible then for at least 3 days and recite durood shareef 3 times at iftaar. It is reported from Sayyiduna Anas (Radhi allah anhu) whosoever keeps one fast of Sh’aban, Allah (Azawajal) makes the fire of hell haraam for him. [Nuz-hatul majalis] The benefits of Dua-e-sh’aban. It is recorded in Thorait shareef (holy book) whoever in the month of sh’aban reads (dua) Translation: There is none worthy of worship except Allah (Azawajal),and we do not worship anyone but him, we are sincerely for his religion even though the disbelievers dislike it. For him Allah (Azawajal) writes the reward of one thousand years worship for him, forgives his one thousand years of sins and he will be raised from his grave in such a state that his face will be shining like the full moon and in the sight of Allah (Azawajal) that person will be amongst the truthful (Sideeq) [Nuz-hatul majalis] The five letters of sh’aban. Sh’aban has five letters (sheen - ayn – ba - alif - noon). The pious scholars say that Sheen is for sharafat (politeness/virtue), Ayn is for uloo (high rank), Ba is for bir meaning doing good and favour, Alif is for ulfath (love/affection), Noon is for noor (light). What arrival of sh’aban that the atmosphere is full of politeness, high rank, favour, affection and light. In this blessed month the good deeds are increased, the bad deeds are forgiven and the showering of blessings is increased. The passion and willingness of the sahaba. Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (Radhi allah anhu) narrates that on the sight of the new moon of Sh’aban, the sahaba (companions) would become busy in the recitation of the holy Quran, pay Zakat for their possessions, they would gather the commanders who were prisoners of war and give the penalty of Hadd (crossing the limits of Islam) to those who had crossed the limit and would free the rest, the traders would pay off their outstanding loans and would collect outstanding loans from those who owed them, and in this way they would free themselves before the new moon of Ramadan. And on seeing the new moon they would begin their itikaaf (seclusion). [Ghunya-thuth-taalibeen] The passion and willingness of present day muslims. Subhanallah (Azawajal), what eagerness the Muslims of the past had, and regretfully today’s Muslims are very much eager with acquiring possessions. The early Muslims had such madani thinking that they would increase their worship in the holy blessed days as much as they could, in order to attain closeness to Allah (Azawajal). And present day, Muslims in the blessed days, especially during the days of Ramadan, are always thinking of ways to attain more worldly possessions. Allah (Azawajal) becomes so merciful to his people that he increases the reward for good deeds but the unfortunate people increase the prices of goods in order to take advantage of their fellow Muslim brothers. Entry into Jannat. Whosoever fasts on the first and last Thursday of Sh’aban Allah (Azawajal) will be responsible for his entry into Jannat. [Nuz-hatul majalis] Hazrat Isa (Alaihis-salaam) and the white stone. Hazrat Isa (Alaihis-salaam) once passed by a mountain, here He, Alaihis-salaam, saw a big white stone and looked at it in surprise, then Allah (Azawajal) sent a revelation that shall I not show you something more surprising. He, alaihi salaam, replied “yes”. The stone then cracked open and from it appeared an old man with a green stick in his hand and pointing towards a bunch of grapes inside the stone he said “from this I receive my sustenance (rizq)”. Hazrat Isa (Alaihis-salaam) asked “for how long have you been worshipping Allah (Azawajal) inside this stone” The man replied “400 years” Sayyiduna Isa (Alaihis-salaam) said in the court of Allah (Azawajal) “I think no-one has worshipped as much as him” Allah (Azawajal) sent the revelation; The worship of anyone from the Ummat of my Beloved Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) who performs two rakat’s is better than the 400 years worship. [Nuz-hatul majaalis] The month of our Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) Subhanallah, my dear Islamic brothers! What can be said about shab-e-barat! When in this night the reward of two rakat’s namaaz is better than 400 years of worship, then what about that fortunate person who performs more worship than this, how can someone estimate the reward for him. Not just the night of shab-e-barat but the whole month of sh’aban is great and honourable; it is in “Nuz-hatul majaalis” that Allah (Azawajal) opens 300 doors of mercy in this month. Regarding the honour and exaltedness of this month it is enough to narrate the Mercy of the worlds Sallahu alaihi wasalam said “Sh’aban is my month”. Our sweet and Dear prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) used to fast often in the month of sh’aban as it is in “Ghunya-thuth-taalibeen” . Fasting in abundance. Hazrat Umm-ul-Mumineen Sayyidina Aisha Saddiqah (Radhi allah-anha) says: I asked the Holy prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) “What is the reason you fast in the month of sh’aban?” The Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) replied “Aisha! This is such a month that the ones that will die during the coming year are given to the angel of death, Malkul moath, Hazrat Izrael (Alaihis-salaam) and I wish my name is given when I am in the state of fasting”. Hazrat Sayyidatuna Aisha (Radhi allah-anha) says that one night I did not see the Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) then I found him in Baqee (graveyard in Madeenah) He (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) said: “Were you afraid that Allah (Azawajal) and his Messenger (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) would not give you your rights?” I replied:”Oh messenger of Allah (Azawajal) I thought you might have gone to visit one of your blessed wives” The Madani Lord (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) said “no doubt on the 15th night of Sh’aban, Allah (Azawajal) descends down to the worldly heavens and forgives more sinners than the hair on the goats of Bani-kalb (a tribe) [Tirmidhi] The list of Haji’s. In Ghunya-thuth-taalibeen, in a long hadith, the Holy Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) also said that the name of he child who is to be born in the coming year is written down and with it the person who will die, on this night the sustenance (rizq) of the creation is shared out, on this night their deeds are taken up” Also in another hadith it is reported that on this night, what age the creation will live till, their wealth (rozi) and the name of Haji’s (people who will perform the Hajj) is also written. Unpredictable decision. Dear Islamic brothers how unpredictable is this night, no-one knows what will be written down in our destiny. Often a person is in a state of carelessness (gaflath) and regarding him a decision has been made. As it is reported in Ghunya-thuth-taalibeen ”many kaffans (shrouds) have been prepared but the ones to wear them are walking in the town; many people are such that their graves have been dug but they are drowned in happiness. Many people are laughing but their time of destruction is close. Many houses are near completion but the end time is also near for the owner”. The deprived people. Dear Islamic brothers Shab-e-barat is a very important night, no-one knows what has been written for them. For this reason the night should not be spent in carelessness. On this night special mercies are showered. On this night Allah (Azawajal) forgives more people than the hair on the goats of Bani-kalb. It is reported in books that the tribe of Bani-kalb was the biggest tribe which grazed goats in the lands of Arabia. There are still some unfortunate people who are not forgiven on this merciful night and these are; 1-The alcoholic 2-The adulterer 3-The one who disobeys his parents 4-The one who breaks friendships and relations 5-The one who spreads mischief (fitna) 6-The one who spreads rumours. In one narration a picture maker is included instead of the one who spreads mischief. According to other narrations; the wizard, the magician, the one who takes interest, the one who keeps the trousers below the ankles due to pride, the one who causes separation between two Muslims and the one who has hatred towards a fellow Muslim without an Islamic (shari) reason, will also be deprived of forgiveness on this blessed night. Therefore every Muslim involved in the sins mentioned should seek sincere repentance (tauba) before shab-e-barat by this way clearing all matters. Aala Hazrat Imam-e-Ahlus Sunnah Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (Alaihi rahmaan) sent a letter to a mureed (disciple) which is quoted; Message of Imam-e-Ahlusunnat (radiallah-anhu). Shab-e-barat is close, in this night everyone’s deeds are presented in the court of Allah (Azawajal). The almighty Allah (Azawajal) forgives the sins of the Muslims for the sake of his Beloved (Sallahu alaihi wasalam) except for two Muslims who for the sake of the world show unpleasantness towards each other and break the relationship. Leave them until they reconcile (mend relationship), fulfil each others rights or get the rights forgiven, so that their book of deeds is free from the rights of people before being presented to Allah (Azawajal). For the, rights of the creator Allah (Azawajal) true repentance is enough. Translation: A sinner repenting for his sins is like he who has not committed a sin. In this state, if Allah (Azawajal) wills, there is great hope for forgiveness on the condition that his Aqeeda (beliefs) is correct, and Allah (Azawajal) is most forgiving, merciful, This is a way to compromise between Muslims and to forgive each others rights with the praise of Allah (azzawajal) This has been practised for some time and I hope you can also start this practice. shab-e-barat in other words a night of freeing oneself from punishment. In relation to this the following is written; Ameer-ul-Mumineen Hazrat Sayyiduna Umar bin Abdul-Azeez (Radhi allah anhu), once on the 15th night of Sh’aban was busy performing nafl namaaz, as he raised his head he found a green letter whose light (noor) reached the sky. On it it said; Translation: From the owner and dominant Allah (Azawajal) this is a pass, for freedom from hell, that has been given to his slave Umar bin Abdul-Azeez. [Tafseer Ruh-hul-bayaan] Who started fireworks? Dear Islamic brothers! Alhamdulillah (Azawajal) this blessed night is a night of freeing oneself from the hellfire but it is not known what has happened to today’s Muslims, that rather than freeing themselves from the fire of hell they are spending money to achieve the fire, in other words the fireworks. In this way they are involved in firework displays and waste the greatness and holiness of this night. In ”Islami Zindhagi” Hakeem-ul-Ummat Mufti Ahmad Yaar Khan Naeemi (Rahmatullah-alaihi) writes; The fireworks were started by king Namrood (Nimrod). When he put Hazrat Ibraheem (Alaihis-salaam) in the fire and the fire became a garden, his men then made fireballs and started to throw these at Hazrat Khaleel-ullah (Alaihis-salaam). Fireworks are haraam. Besides this, fireworks are used on Diwali by Hindu’s, unfortunately this un-pure ritual of fireworks is now increasingly being practised by the Muslims. Each year Muslims are spending hundreds and thousands of pounds on fireworks and it is often that so many homes and so many people have been burned with fireworks. In this there is a chance of losing life, losing wealth and houses being burned and this it is also disobedience to Allah (Azawajal). Mufti Ahmad Yaar Khan Naeemi (Rahmatullah-alaihi) says; ”making of fireworks, their selling, their buying for someone else, their use and helping someone to use them is HARAAM”. [islami zindhagi] On the 14th of Shabaan at the time of sunset. Whoever reads La hawla walaa quwatha illa billa hillali yil azeem 40 times and reads durood shareef 100 times, Allah (Azawajal) will forgive his 40 years of sins and for him Allah (Azawajal) will set aside 40 heavenly women(hurain) [fazail-e-shab-e-baraat] After Maghrib namaaz. It is from the practises of the Awliya-e-karam (Rahmatullah-alaihi) that after the fardh and sunnats etc of maghrib, 6 nafl rakats in two’s (sallaam after 2 rakats) were offered. Before the first two rakats make the intention that Allah (Azawajal) gives good and long life. Before the next two rakats make intention that Allah (Azawajal) keeps you safe from evil and misfortune, and in the last two rakats make the intention that Allah (Azawajal) does not make you dependant on others except him. After each two rakat’s, read Surah-Iklaas (Qul huvalahu ahad) 21 times or Surah-Yaseen once. [Note: The following can also be done; one brother reads Surah-Yaseen aloud and the others listen, during this make sure no-one else reads Surah-Yaseen using the tongue to himself. If it is possible then read both (21 times Surah-Iklaas and once Surah-Yaseen) in this way there will be a great reward and the night would have just started. After this read dua-e-nisf-e-shabaan (dua for mid shabaan) (see last page of this risala) Safe from magic all year round. On the 15th night of sh’aban whoever takes seven leaves from a berry tree and mixes these in water and takes a bath (ghusl) Inshallah Azawajal that person will be safe from magic all year round. [islami zindhagi] The benefits of fasting on the 15th. The night of shab-e-baraat should be spent in as much worship as possible and fast during the day. It is stated in Anees-ul-waizeen whoever fasts the fire will not touch him. Pay attention. On shab-e-baraat the book of deeds is changed therefore if possible you should also fast on the 14th of sh’aban so that you are fasting on the last day on the book of deeds. Lighting candles on graves. To visit the graveyard on shab-e-barat is a sunnat. (It is not permissible for women). It is not permissible to light candles or aloe stick (moom bati) on the graves. If one is reciting the Qur’an (tilawat) etc then for brightness a person can step away from the grave and light a candle. In the same way if the intention is to spread a scent then a person can step away from the grave and light a aloe stick (scented stick/moom bati). On the shrines of Awliya’s it is permitted to light a lamp. The request of Sag-e-Madeenah. Alhamdulillah Azawajal it has been the habit of Sag-e-Madeenah for years now to perform six nafl rakats, this worship after maghrib is not in any way compulsory (fardh) or necessary (wajib) but it is optional (nafl) and there is also no prohibition in shariat of reciting tilawat or performing nafl after maghrib. Therefore if possible Islamic brothers should encourage people in their mosques to perform these optional acts of worship (nawafil) and earn great reward. Islamic sisters should perform these nawafils in their homes. The method for performing these nawafil has been mentioned previously.
