As far as I know, you just have to continue from where the Imam is and do not need to make up for that which has been missed out but you cannot do this all the time (i.e. intentionally be late). App zuhr ki Namaaz Asr ki azaan sey pehlay pehlay per sakhtay hain aur ager Azaan ho chuki hai toh pehlay Asr ada kerrain kyun kay Asr ka waqt ho chuka hai aur phir Zuhr ki qaza per lain. Ager app school/work wagera mey thay then for sure app Zuhr ki namaaz, Asr ki azaan sey pehlay per sakhtay hain kyun kay app ney jaanbujh ker late nahe perhi.
