Assalam alaikum dear brothers and sisters;

Some time ago, I came across a naat by the brother of A'la Hazrat: Hazrat Hassan Raza Khan. I like this naat very much but there are some words and sentences that I do not understand so I was wondering if someone could translate it into English or simpler Urdu?

The name of the naat is "Aasman gar terey talwon ka nazara karta" and you can listen to it on http://www.nafseislam.net/en/MediaList.php...2&CatType=1

(there are 2 naats by this name on the website, please listen to the second one)

I will type out the part of the naat which I do not understand so much. It is from the last 8 minutes. I would be very grateful if someone can translate the bolded part of this naat into English.

Shokh aadab baham karne kashakash rehte

Ishq gum karda to un aql se uljha karta

Aankh uthte to mein junghla ke palak se ley ta

dil bigarta to mein ghabra ke sambhala karta

bekhuda na kabhi sajde mein soo-e-dar girta

jaanib-e- qibla kabhi chonk ke palta karta

baam tak dil ko kabhi baal-e-kabutar de ta

khaak par gir ke kabhi haaey Khudaya karta

gah marham naheen yah zakhm e jigar mein rehta

gah nashtar zani-e-khoon-e-tamanna karta

hamra-e-mehr kabhi gird khateera phirta

saae ke saath kabhi khaak pe lota karta

sohbat-e-daagh-e-jigar se kabhi ji behlata

ulfat-e-dast o gareeban ka tamasha karta

di-e-hairan to kabhi zoq-e-tapash par lata

tapash-e-dil ko kabhi hosla tarsa karta

kabhi khud apne takhaiyul pe mein hairan rehta

kabhi khud apne samajhne ko na samjha karta

kabhi kehta ke yeh kia bazm hai kesi hai bahar

kabhi andaz e tajahul se mein toba karta

kabhi kehta key eh kia josh-e-junoon hai zaalim

kabhi phir gir ke tarapne ki tamana karta

suthree suthree wo faza dekh ke mein warb-e-gunah

apne aankhon mein khud us bazm mein khatka karta

kabhi rahmat ke tasawur mein hansi aa jati

paas e aadab kabhi hoonton ko bakhiya karta

dil agar rang-e-muasi se bigarne lagta

aql (or aap?) Ka zikr suna kar mein sambhala karta

yeh mazey khoob yeh qismat se jo paae hote

sakht dewana tha gar khuld ki parwah karta

moot us sil ko phir naam watan ka leta

khak us sar pe jo us dar se kinaara karta

ae Hassan (r.a) qasd-e-Madina naheen rona hai yahi

aur mein aap se kis baat ka shikwa karta

JazakAllahu Khair

3 days... no reply :(

Asslam alaikum

Sorry for the late reply I was trying to find this kalam in written format but I did not find however I have written this in urdu by listening from audio naaat... I have used question marks for one word that I was not able to understand at all so I left question marks there but even without that word the meanings are clear inshaAllah

Shok o Aadab Baham Garme KashaKash rahtay

Ishq e Gum karda ?? aqal say uljha karta ..

Shoq = Fondness , desire

Adab = Respect

kasha kash = quarrel or to argue

baham = with each other

The desire in the heart is ever increasing but the respect will not let so they are fighting with eachother

The love and The Brain are quralling with each other

when one is in front of the Holy Grave The affection , the fondness, the love demand to look up to see to touch to kiss but the brain and the Respect would not allow

Aannk uththi tu mai jhunjla kay palak see laita

Dil bigarta tu mai ghabra kay sambhala karta

the heart is not listening the eyes are down as they should be when standing infront of the Syedial Awalaineen wal aakhireen alaislam but my Master alaislam is also my Beloved brain is forcing to maintain the Adab but heart is pushing ever so much to look up and the heart is not listening to me but whatever happens I have to control my heart and mainatin respect

Bekhudana (with Baykhudi) kabhi sajday mai soaiy dar girta

Jaanib e Qibla kabhee choank kay palta karta

My love would ultimately win over my control and i would loose all my senses when infront of the Qibla of Kaba sharif and might fall in sajda then would suddenly realize and turn to kaba although the kaaba itself does sajda to Prophet alaislam a sajida of respect ...

Baam(above , roof) tak dil ko kabhee bal e kabootar (wings of pigeon) daita

Khak par gir kay kabhee haaiy khudaya karta

one moment I would let my heart fly above and let it to do what he wants to look to absorb every sight of that Holy place but then the other moment i realize what if i do any disrespect so i wd fell on floor with utmost pain to control my heart Oh God

Gah ... Marham Nahieeaiy Zakhme Jigar mai Rahta

Gah ... Nishtar Zanieeay Khaun e Tamanna karta

Gah = one second,one moment as we say in urdu gahay bagahay

Marham = ointment

Naheiy = Deny

Zakhme Jigar = The wound of heart

Nishtar = Lancet or any sharp tool for surgery

Nishtar Zani = using that Nishtar

Khaune Tamanna = Blood of Desires or Killing of desires

One moment I would deny my heart any medicine

Other moment I am doing surgery for the bleeding injuries

Hamra e mahar kabhe gird khateera phirta

Sae kay sath kabhe khak pai loata karta

Hamra e mahar = with moon

Saiay kay sath = with shadow

khatira = i guess is hereabouts bushes etc wallahAlam

Khak pay loatna = swirl , toss on dust

This can mean that with Moon in nights and in days when Sun is out ie 24 hours i would be taking blessing from trees and desserts of Madina .. going everywhere visiting all holy city inshAllah

Ulfat e dast o giraban ka tamasha karta

Ulfat = Love

Dast = Hand

Girabain = collar

ulfat between ones own hands and collar means that the person is being harsh toward himself or becoming lost and loosing all his powers to control his consciousness a state of dilemma how to maintain respect yet Ishq is demanding and the Place of Mahboob is in front of eyes.

Dil e Hairan ko kabhee zoaq e tapash par lata

tapash e dil ko kahee hosla tarsa karta

Hairan = Amused , Totatlly lost in something with excitement

Zoaq = likness , fondness, wish

Tapash = Heat , Flames

Hosla = Courage

I am harnessing my heart and deny it what it wants igniting the flames of burning wishes yet i dont want to incourage flames in my heart hoping that it would get what it is longing for

Kabhee khud apnay takhayul pay mai hairan hota

kabhee khud apnay samjhnay ko na samjha karta

takhaiyul = imagination , thoughts

At one instant I am amazed by my imaginations that i comprehended what i needed to but the other instant I feel like i dont know aything and I am amused how can i not understand ...

Bakhiya = to sew up , to zip

paas e adab honto ko bakhiya = would mean to zip not to utter any word due to respect and Adab

Dil agar Ranj e Mua'aasi say bigar'nay lagta

Af'w ka zikar suna kar mai sambhala karta

Ranj = deep sorrow

Mua'si = sins

Af'w = Maafi , Rahmat

If by remembering all the sins or by the thouhgts of the disrepect of the esteemed sanctuary my heart would feel grieved I would remind my heart about the Blessings and Afw of Allah azzawajal and Prophet Alaislam to make my heart hopeful that Allah will forgive my shortcomings amin

Moat us Dil ko jo phir Naam wata ka laita

Khak us sar pay jo us dar say kinara karta

Death for the heart who even mentions name of the country Once someone is in Madina

and Dust for his head who doesnt want to go madina and when there wants to go back from

May Allah forgive any mistakes amin and if somone finds any mistake plz mention and correct it jazakAllah khair
