    The Old Sock

The Old Sock A wise and saintly rich man, sensing his approaching death, called his son to his side and gave him these instructions: "My son, I shall be leaving you very shortly. On the day when I die, and they have washed my body and come to wrap it in the shroud, I want you to put one of my socks on my foot. This is my final request of you." Soon after this, the old man did indeed die, leaving behind his goods and property, his children and his dependents. Family, friends, acquaintances and neighbours attended his funeral. The body had been washed and was almost completely wrapped in the shroud, when the son remembered his father's wish. Finding one of his old socks, he handed it to the washer of the dead, saying, "In accordance with my father's last request, please put this sock on his foot." "That is quite impossible:' Said the man. "Such a thing is utterly impermissible in Islam. I cannot act against the Sacred Law." Despite this valid objection, the son insisted, "That was my father's final request; it must certainly be carried out." The washer of the dead was unmoved. "If you won't take my word for it," he said, "go and ask the mufti. He will confirm what I tell you, that it is not permissible. " Holding up the funeral, they consulted the mufti, preachers and scholars, all of whom declared that this was not permissible in Islam. Just then, an aged friend of the deceased interrupted the debate with these words to the son: " My boy, your late father entrusted me with a letter which I was to hand over to you after his departure. Here, this letter belongs to you." So saying, he gave him an envelope. Taken by surprise, the boy opened the envelope and read out the contents of his father's letter. "My son, all this wealth and property I have left to you. Now you see: at the last moment, they won't even let you give me an old sock to wear. When you yourself come one day to be in my condition they will also refuse to let you keep anything but your shroud. Eight yards of shroud are all you will be able to carry over from this fleeting world into the Hereafter. So pull yourself together and be prepared. Spend the fortune I have left you, not for the satisfaction of vain desires, but in ways pleasing to Allah, that you may achieve honor in both worlds."
  2. The Broken Hearted Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu Hazrat Bilal Habshi radiallaho ta'ala anhu was the Mo'azzin (person calling the Azaan) of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam. After Syria was conquered he went to Hazrat Umar radiallaho ta'ala anhu and said, "If you give permission, I want to leave Madinah and go to Jerusalem and lead a quiet life. Because the beloved whose blessed face was the cure for my aching heart is resting and has hidden his glowing face from us. This has resulted in great restlessness and anxiety for me. A true lover can not bear to be away from his beloved. Whenever I look at any part of Masjid E Nabvi, the Mihraab or Mimbar, my heart cries out for my beloved. How can I explain to my broken heart? How can I comfort my dejected heart and soul? How can I satisfy my aching heart?" Sometimes the path of true love means you have to be apart. But that is only when you have reached the pinnacle of love like Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu. The broken hearted Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu was given permission by Hazrat Umar radiallaho ta'ala anhu to go to Syria. Who can know the love of Bilal better than Ameer Ul Mo'mineen? Only one broken hearted person can know the pain being felt by another with a broken heart, and this was the case with Ameer Ul Mo'mineen Hazrat Umar radiallaho ta'ala anhu. The love of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam has intoxicated the heart to such an extent that when he heard that Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam had left this world, he drew his sword and said, "If anyone says that Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam is dead, I will take his head off." Can you imagine the obsession and sincere love? What causes this level of emotion and passion? The companions were those who had witnessed Hazrat Jibrael alaihis salaam bringing the verses of the Qur'an and for whose reformation and improvement the leader of the Angels would bring verses. None of these walking examples of the Qur'an grabbed Hazrat Umar radiallaho ta'ala anhu by the hand to stop him. None of them tried to stand in his path. The shock of the departure of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam shook and scattered the harmony of the mind and brain. However, this same Prophet of Mercy sallalaho alaihe wasallam had also trained him and moulded him into what he was today. It was the height of devotion and love that shook the walls of wisdom and sanity for a few moments. It was also love and devotion that covered itself with a quiet blanket later on. That Umar radiallaho ta'ala anhu, who could not control himself due to grief at the departure of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam, is the same Hazrat Umar radiallaho ta'ala anhu that also controlled the whole ummah. He took on the extraordinary responsibility of being a deputy of a Prophet and guiding and helping the nation and the religion towards greatness. Hazrat Umar radiallaho ta'ala anhu knew exactly what Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu was going through and knew the state of his heart. He gave permission and Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu left for Syria. But the heart never left Madinah. His remembrance and his thoughts were always lost in Rasool Allah (sallalaho alaihe wasallam) and always yearning for him. My Heart Is Attached To Your Memories In Such A Way Now There Is No Chance Of Me Being Alone Ever. Seeing the state of Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu night and day, those with sincerity and love decided to do something to ease his mind and soothe his pain. Therefore they arranged for him to be married, and his Nikah was performed in due course. But, how could Hazrat Bilal deny and forget the bright glow and the showers of mercy in the city of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam? One night he was asleep and Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam came to him in his dream. The Mercy to the Worlds sallalaho alaihe wasallam asked him, "O Bilal, will you not come to visit me anymore?" Allah! Allah! Who knows what affect these words had on this devotee but Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu immediately got up and his heart and soul were singing with joy and happiness. How could Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu rest now? Immediately he got up and set of for the blessed city of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam. When he entered Madinah he saw that it was the same streets of mercy and light. The same calm wind of pleasure and happiness. But the centre and the reason for this amazing environment was nowhere to be seen. He hurried to the resting-place of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam with a fast beating heart, wounded passion, tears in his eyes and presented his salutations (salaam). He embraced the blessed resting-place of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam and cried and cried. The heart and soul of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam, his grandsons, Hazrat Imam Hasan and Hazrat Imam Hussein radiallaho ta'ala anhuma saw this slave of their grandfather and were reminded about the time when he was amongst them. Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu used to play with them when they were young boys, he would carry them on his shoulders, and would hold their fingers and walk with them. They both ran forward and embraced Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu, and said, "O beloved Mo'azzin of the Prophet sallalaho alaihe wasallam! Will we never hear the Azaan that we used to hear when our grandfather was amongst us? It is time for Namaz, please give Azaan today." Hazrat Bilal was now in a predicament. He could not refuse an order from the leaders of the youth of Paradise, but for giving Azaan, Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu needed the beauty and elegance of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam in front of him. Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu stood to give Azaan, and as soon as the first words of the Azaan were carried into the streets of Madinah, hearts trembled. It was like a spear through the hearts of people. The voice of Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu immediately bought to life the era of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam. Allah o Akbar! Everyone remembered that glorious time when Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam was amongst them. Everyone that heard the Azaan of Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu, dropped what they were doing and ran to the mosque. The era of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam had returned. The Azaan of Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu ignited the embers of love of Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam that had been restrained and subdued. The flames of love roared to life, there was a deafening noise and chaos in the streets of Madinah, people stopped working in the fields, veiled ladies lost their senses and ran out into the streets of Madinah out of love for Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam. Allah! Allah! When Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu said "Ash-hado Al-Laa Ilaha Illal-Laah" his voice trembled, because when he used to give Azaan before, when he would say "Ash-hado Anna Muhammadur Rasool Allah", he would point his forefinger at Muhammad Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam. Today when this Aashiq E Rasool sallalaho alaihe wasallam said those words and opened his eyes, he did not find his beloved in front of him, his voice stopped and Hazrat Bilal was unable to complete the Azaan. He lost his senses, fainted and fell to the floor. Allah O Akbar! Why did Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu leave Syria and go back to Madinah? The only reason Hazrat Bilal radiallaho ta'ala anhu made this journey was to visit Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam. Subhan Allah.

And may Allah the Exalted shower blessings and peace on Sayyidina Muhammad, and on his family and his companions And all praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds. JazakAllah khair.
  4. Laylatul Baraat--Night of 15th Shaban!!! The 15th night of Shabaan is a very blessed night. According to the Hadith Shareef, the name of this Mubarak night is "Nisf Shabaan" which means 15th night of Shabaan. The reason for this special night to attain its name of Laylatul Baraa'ah, meaning the Night of Salvation, Seeking Freedom from Azaab and Calamity, is that in this night the Barkaat and acceptance of repentance may be accomplished. Laylatul Baraa'ah in Persian, as well as in Urdu, is called Shabbe Baraat. It is the night of seeking pardon and repenting to Almighty Allah, remembering our past sins and sincerely settling the mind that one will never commits sins in the future. All the deeds that are against Shari'ah must be totally avoided so that our Du'a and Istighfaar, hopefully, will be accepted. Muslims should check themselves and A'la Hazrat, Imam Ahmed Raza ***** (radi Allahu anhu) has given a beautiful advise in this regard. This great Imam said: "Verily the auspicious night of Shabbe Baraa'a is drawing near when the deeds of the slave will be presented to the Almighty Allah. I humbly supplicate in the Darbar-e-Aqdas of the Almighty Allah that through the Wasila-e-Uzma of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) He forgives the sins and transgressions of all Muslims. Aameen. "On this occasion, it should be the duty of all Sunni Muslims to forgive one another and to make sure that whatever debts owed to one another is settled. The importance of Huqooq-ul-Ibaad cannot be over-emphasised as this is among the pre-requisites for proper Ibaadat. I pray that all Muslims humbly remember this night and try as much as possible to perform Ibaadat and other pious deeds so that their Record of Deeds be presented in all dignity. "Finally, I pray that the Almighty Allah assists you and I and the Muslim Ummah wherever you may be. Muslims should be aware of sincerity and honesty in all their deeds. May Almighty Allah forgive all of us. Aameen." Faqeer Ahmed Raza Qaaderi (may Allah forgive him) HOW TO WELCOME THIS NIGHT On this auspicious night, you should perform fresh Ghusal and Wudhu and perform the two Rakaat of Tahhiyatul Wudhu. In every Rakaat, after the Suratul Fatiha, you should read Ayatul Kursi once and Surah Ahad three times. Also perform eight Rakaats of Salaah with four Salaams. In each Rakaat after the Surah Fatiha, you should read the Ayatul Kursi (once) and Surah Ahad fifty times. WHAT TO RECITE IMMEDIATELY AFTER SUNSET After sunset, you should recite "La Hawla walaa Quwwata illa Billahil-aliyil Azeem" forty times with three times Durood Shareef before and after. It is mentioned that by reciting this, Almighty Allah will forgive forty years of your sins and forty Hoors will await to serve you in Jannatul Firdous. COUNTLESS MERCIES Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has stated: "Verily! Almighty Allah directs His Special Grace on the world on this Night. He forgives my Ummah more than the number of wool that is found on the sheep of the Bani Kalb". We should remember that in those days the Bani Kalb possessed the most number of sheep that any other tribe. How great is the Mercy of Almighty Allah on this night that He forgives millions of Muslims. We also realise from this that these numbers can only pertain to the Ahle Sunnah Wa Jamaah collectively, for the righteous followers of the Hanafi, Shaafi'i, Maaliki and Hambali indeed number millions of Muslims. THE VISITORS OF THIS NIGHT It is narrated that the departed souls (Arwaah) of the Muslims visit the houses of their friends and relatives on this night and proclaim: "O people of the house! You stay in our houses and enjoy the wealth that we have left behind. You use our children and take work from them, please perform our Esaale Sawaab. Verily our deeds have become complete, while your record of deeds is still spread". If the people of the house perform the Esaale Sawaab and Khatam Shareef on this night, then the Arwaah depart will the Sawaab extremely happy and overjoyed all the time making Du'a for the people. VISIT TO THE CEMETERY Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) reports: "One night, which was the 15th of Shabaan, I did not find the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) in the house so I went in search of him. After a long search, I found him in Baqiah (the cemetery of Madinah) offering Du'a for the deceased and praying for their forgiveness". (Baihaqi) A special point must be made to visit the cemetery during this night and pray for the deceased buried therein, as the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is been reported as having visited the cemetery on this night and spending a long time therein, lamenting, reading and praying for the deceased. TO KEEP FAST According to the Hadith Shareef which is narrated by Ibne Habaan (radi Allahu anhu) that Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "When the night of 15th Shabaan arrives spend the night awake and keep fast the next day". Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said often in his Khutba (sermon): "O people! Lighten and cleanse your bodies by way of fasting during Shabaan, so that it shall be easy and helpful to you for the fast during Ramadaan. Whoso fasts for three days during Shabaan, all his past sins are wiped off". (Baihaqi) Fasting is also recommended on the 13th, 14th and 15th of Shabaan. HOW TO SPEND THE NIGHT On this night, perform Nawaafil, recite the Quran Shareef, recite abundant Durood Shareef, Istighfaar and Kalima Tayyibah. It is also mentioned that if one reads Surah Dukhaan seven times on this night, Almighty Allah will reward you with 70 worldly needs and 70 deeds for the Hereafter. DO NOT BE AMONGST THOSE DEPRIVED OF MERCY Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Almighty Allah forgives all Muslims on this night, besides the fortune tellers, the magicians, the alcoholics, those who disrespect their parents and those who take part and encourage adultery". In another narration, the following people have also been mentioned: 1. One who deals in usury (Riba), 2. One who wears his trousers below his ankle with pride and arrogance (In Arabia, people displayed their wealth and boasted in this manner), 3. One who creates disunity among two Muslims, 4. The person who unjustly takes away the right and property of another Muslim and has not yet rectified himself. All these persons are not shown Mercy on this auspicious Night. A HUMBLE APPEAL TO SEEK PARDON AND ASK ALLAH'S FORGIVENESS Dear Muslim brothers, the Bountiful Allah in His Infinite Mercy has provided us with such an auspicious night so that we may take advantage of it and repent for our sins, and thus obtain His Grace and Favour. It is for us to take full advantage of it. During this night, offer special prayers and repent sincerely for our past sins and ask for His Forgiveness. Also on this night the Doors of Mercy and Forgiveness are opened wide, and those who sincerely grieve over and repent for their past sins and seek forgiveness from Allah are pardoned and forgiven by the Grace of Allah the Merciful. Each Tasbih or Du'a should begin and terminate with the recital of Durood Shareef and one who wishes for the acceptance of his Du'as should use the Wasila of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). Hazrat Ghousul Azam, Sheikh Abdul Qaadir Jilani (radi Allahu anhu) has mentioned in his famous "Gunyat-ut Taalibeen" that the month of Shabaan according to some narrations is related to Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). So, it is our duty, as the Ummat of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) to love and respect this month more than any other month (besides Ramadaan). We should also offer abundantly salutations (Salaat-o-Salaam) upon the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). While we are praying and asking for ourselves and family, we should also remember in our Du'as the Muslim Ummah facing calamities in many parts of the world, that may Allah Ta'ala grant them the strength and Istiqaamat (steadfastness) in Deen. Those weak Muslims who are under pressure from the West and modernisation, may Allah Ta'ala guide them and show them the right path so that they be in touch with their glorious past. Aameen. May Almighty Allah guide us on the path of the Ambiya and the Awliya. Aameen. NAFIL SALAAH TO BE READ ON SHABBE BARAAT BASHARAT OF JANNAT: Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said that Allah Ta'ala instructs and assigns 100 angels to the person who performs 100 Nafil Salaahs on this auspicious night - 30 of which will bring the good news of Jannat, 30 angels to protect one from the Azaab (Punishment) of Dozakh (Hell), 30 to remove all misfortunes and miseries of this world and 10 angels to protect one from Shaitaan. THE GUARDING OF IMAAN: After performing Maghrib Salaah, read 2 rakaahs of Nafil. In the first rakaah, after Surah Fatiha, recite Surah Ikhlaas 3 times and Surah Falaq once. In the second rakaah, after Surah Fatiha, recite Surah Ikhlaas 3 times and Surah Naas once. After Salaam, make Du'a and ask Allah to protect your Imaan. BARAKAH IN RIZQ: After Maghrib Salaah, read 2 rakaahs of Nafil. Thereafter, read Surah Yasin once, Surah Ikhlaas 21 times and Du'a Nisf Shabaan once. Then, make Du'a for Barakah in Rozi and ask Allah not to make you dependent on anyone. LONG LIFE FILLED WITH PIETY: After Maghrib Salaah, read 2 rakaahs of Nafil. Read Surah Yasin once. Then read Du'a Nisf Shabaan once. Thereafter, make Du'a for long life filled with piety and righteousness. REWARD FOR TEN THOUSAND GOOD DEEDS: Anyone who performs 20 rakaahs of Nafil after Maghrib in such a way that after Surah Fatiha, recites Surah Ikhlaas 10 times in every rakaah, will be rewarded abundantly by Allah Ta'ala, and ten thousand good deeds will be recorded in his Amal Namaa (Book of Deeds). DEATH WITH COMPLETE FAITH/IMAAN: Anyone who performs 2 rakaahs of Nafil on the last Friday of Shabaan between Maghrib and Esha will die with full faith and Imaan. After Surah Fatiha, one should read Ayatul Kursi once, Surah Ikhlaas 10 times and Surah Falaq and Surah Naas once in both rakaahs. If the person who reads Nafil in such a way dies until the next Shabaan, will die with Imaan, Insha-Allah. The performing of Salatul Tasbih on this night is also very virtuous Events: 1. "Laila-tul Baraa'at (Night of forgiveness) the fifteenth night of Shaban. 2. "Qibla", the direction to be adopted within salaah, was reverted back to the "Ka'aba" in Makkah (after being coverted to Baitul Muqaddas in Jerusalem for a short period of time). This took place two years after Hijraah on the 15th of Shaban. 3. Fasting in the blessed month of Ramadan was made compulsory in the year 2 A.H. on the 25th of Shaban. 4. Three years A.H. Hadhrat Hafsa (R.A) was joined in matrimony with the Prophet . 5. In this very month forty two years later Hadhrat Hafsa (R.A) took leave from this world. 6. The birth of the Prophet's grandson Hadhrat Hussain (R.A.) took place, four years on the fifth of Shaban. 7. The battle of Banu Mustaliq took place in Shaban. 8. During the above mentioned battle, the "Aayah of Tayammum" (Purifying with sand before salaah) was revealed, in the year 5 A.H. 9. The daughter of the beloved Prophet Umme Kulthum (R.A.) took leave from this world, in the 9 A.H.
  5. THE BARAKAH AND BLESSINGS OF BISMILLAH AN INCIDENT WITH ISA-JESUS(Alaihissalatuwassalam.) It is reported that Sayyidina Isa (Alaihissalatuwassalam.)) passed by a grave whose inmate was being tormented. After some days he happened to pass by the same grave again. This time there was no punishment. The inmate was in great comfort. This surprised him a great deal. He asked Allah: -Lord, what brought about Your mercy so that you have lifted the punishment from this person?" Allah Ta'ala replied: -0 Isa, when the man died, he left behind a child. When his mother took him to the madrasah and he, the child, said Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem in the presence of the teacher, it is not like me to keep on punishing his father while he called me Rahmaan and Raheem. Hence, I forgave him. BASHR HAAFI'S INCIDENT Bashr Haafi once saw a paper with the inscription "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" lying on the ground. He picked it up. He had 2 Dirhams in his pocket. He bought perfume with these and smeared it on the paper. That night he saw (the noor(light)) of Allah Ta'ala in his dream. Allah said to him: 0 Bashr Haafi, just as you have honoured my name, in the same way I shall make you popular in the world and hereafter. THE STORY OF ALLAH'S FORGIVING A QAADHI A certain Qaadhi passed away while his wife was expecting. The child was born. When he grew up, his mother took him to the madrasah. When he said "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" in the presence of the teacher for the-first time, Allah Ta'ala lifted the punishment from his father. Allah Ta'ala said to Sayyidina Jibreel (Alaihissalatuwassalam): "O Jibreel, it is not like me to keep on punishing the father while his child remembers me with "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" . A FASCINATING STORY OF A JEWISH GIRL It is mentioned in Lam'aate Soofiyyah that a pious man was once lecturing on the virtues of "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem". A Jewish girl was also listening to his lecture. She was so moved by the lecture that she accepted Islam. Now, whenever she did anything she always said "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" first. When her father, who was the king's minister, discovered that she had embraced Islam, he became very upset. He feared that the people would look down upon him. So, he began threatening her in the hope that she would forsake Islam. But she would not. Finally, he decided, the only solution was to kill her. Thus, he thought of a plan: he gave her the ring which was used for sealing letters and documents in the king's court. He said to her: "Keep it until I ask for it." Saying "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" she took it and put it in her pocket.' That night the father tip-toed into her room and stole the ring and flung it into the river. That would give the king all the reason to hang her. The following day a fisherman came along to the minister and gave him a fish as a gift. The minister took it and gave it to his daughter to prepare it. As soon as she opened the stomach to clean the fish she found the ring. She was shocked! For it looked exactly like the ring her father had given her! She searched for the ring in her pocket but couldn't find it. She read "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" and put the ring back into her pocket. She then prepared the fish and presented it to her father. After he had his meal. He then asked for the ring. She said "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" and produced it from her pocket. The father was shocked for he had thrown it into the river! How could she take it out from her pocket! He then told her what he had done and enquired where the ring came from. She told him she found it from the fish's stomach. Witnessing the barakah(blessing) of Bismillah he accepted Islam straightaway. THE STORY OF THE ROMAN KING It is mentioned in Moo-dhi-hul Qur'aan that the king wrote to Sayyidina Umar (RadiAllahuanhu) that he has continious headaches and to kindly send him some medication. Sayyidina Umar (RadiAllahuanhu) sent him a topee(hat). As long as he had the topee(hat) on his head he would feel well. But when he took it off, the headache came back. He was surprised. He took off the topee(hat) and inspected it carefully. And he found "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" inscribed inside. THE STORY OF SAYYIDINA KHAALID (RadiAllahuanhu) On one occasion Sayyidina Khaalid (RadiAllahuanhu) surrounded the enemy. So they said to him that you claim that Islam is a true religion. Show us some proof. So he said to them to bring him some poison. They brought him a cup filled with poison. He said 'Bismillah' and drank it. No harm whatsoever came to him. Witnessing this, they all embraced Islam. THE STORY OF FAQEEH MUHAMMAD ZAMANI Faqeeh Muhammad Zamani had a severe fever. His Ustaad Faqeeh Wali Muhammad came to pay him a visit. He gave him a ta'weez(amulet) and advising him not to open it, he departed. As soon as he wore it, his fever disappeared. He became curious. So he opened it and found "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" written in it. This made him lose his confidence in the ta'weez. So his fever returned. He went back to his Ustaad and offered his apology and asked for another ta'weez(amulet). The Ustaad gave him another one. He wore it and his fever again disappeared. He opened it after a year and again, to his surprise, found "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" written in it. By this time he was cured and his yaqeen in "Bismillahir Rahman nir Raheem" grew tremendously. BISMILLAH BEFORE WAHEE In Durre Manthoor Sayyidina Ibne Umar (RadiAllahuanhu) is reported as saying that surely, whenever Jibreel (Alaihissalatuwassalam) used to bring wahee to Rasoolullah (Sallallaahu-alayhi-wasallam), he used to first recite Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem . The reason for the above is as follows: in Bismillah there are three names of Allah: (1) Allah which is His personal name indicating that all projects can only be initiated by the will and wish of Allah. (2) Rahmaan (Kind) which is His attributive name indicating that only Allah can keep that project intact and existent (guarding it against destruction). (3) Raheem(Most Merciful) which is also His attributive name indicating that only Allah can, through His mercy and grace, enable any person to derive benefit from that project. This clearly proves that any project begun with Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem will be granted barakah and blessings from the beginning till the end. BISMILLAH BEFORE DOING ANYTHING It is for this reason that Rasoolullah (Sallallaahu-alayhi- wasallam) used to recite Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem before doing any work. And he (sallallaahu-alayhi-wasallam) also advised the Ummah to do the same. For example, reading it before shutting the door for the night, before putting out the light, before taking meals, before drinking water, before boarding a conveyance, and when alighting any conveyance. REMEMBERING ALLAH THROUGH HIS THREE THOUSAND NAMES It is mentioned in Tafseer Roohul Bayaan that Allaamah Sayyid Haqqi (Rehmatullahalaih) said that Allah Ta'ala has three thousand names. He revealed one thousand to the angels, one thousand to the ambiya(Alaihissalatuwassalam), three hundred are mentioned in the Toraah, three hundred in the Zaboor, three hundred in the Injeel, and ninety-nine in the Holy Qur'aan. One Name He has kept to Himself; He revealed it to no one. Also, He has condensed all His names into the three names contained in Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem. They are Allah, Rahmaan and Raheem. Any person saying Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem; it is as though he has remembered Allah by all His names. BISMILLAH - A MEANS OF HIGH STATUS IN THE HEREAFTER Rasoolullah (Sallaahu-alayhi-wasallam) is reported as saying that any du'a which is begun with is not rejected. Because of saying Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem the scales of my Ummah will become heavy on the Day of Qiyaamah. The other people will enquire: "Why is the virtues of the Ummate Muhammadiyyah so heavy?" Their prophets will say: "In the utterances of the Ummate Muhammadiyyah there is such an honourable name of Allah that if it is placed on the one side of the scale, and the sins of the entire creation is put onto the other side then the side with the virtue will be heavier. A HADEETHE QUDSI Rasoolullah (Saliallaahu-alayhi-wasallam) said that Sayyidina Jibreel made mention of this Hadeeth under oath that he heard it from Sayyidina Mika'il(Alaihissalatuwassalam) under oath who in turn heard it from Sayyidina Israfeel (Alaihissalatuwassalam) under oath that Allah Ta'ala said: "By my honour, grace and grandeur, whoever reads Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem and Soorah Faatihah jointly once, then you be witness that I shall not burn his tongue and I will save him from the Fire as well as the punishment of the grave and the day of Qiyaamah. Note: Reading Bismillah and Sooratul Faatihah jointly means to read it as follows: Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem mil hamdu lillaahi rabbil aalameen..... SAYING BISMILLAH BEFORE WUDHU Rasoolullah (Sallailaahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: "One who does not say Bismillah before wudhu, his wudhu is incomplete." (Tirmizi). It is reported from Sayyidina Abu Hurairah (RadiAllahuanhu) that anyone who does not say Bismillah before wudhu, only the sins committed by the limbs which are washed in wudhu will be washed away; and one who says Bismillah before wudhu, the sins of the entire body will be washed away. (Mishkaat) SAYING BISMILLAH BEFORE MEALS Sayyidina Umar Ibne Abee Salmah (RadiAllahuanhu) reports that Rasoolullah (Sallallaahu-alayhi-wasallam) said to me: "Say Bismillah and eat with your right hand the food that is in front of you." (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmizi) Whoever used to eat without saying Bismillah, Rasoolullah(Sallallaahu-alayhi-wasallam) used to hold his hand and urge him to say Bismillah. (Zaadul Ma'aad,Uswah-e-Rasoole Akram). The Ulama have said that it is preferable to say the Bismillah aloud so that it is a reminder for those who forget. Also, Ibne Habbaan is reported as saying that if Bismillah is said prior to utilising any bounty of Allah and Alhamdu- lillah is said after utilising it, the user will not be asked to the give accountability for that bounty on the Day of Qiyamah. WHEN UNDRESSING Sayyidina Anas (RadiAllahuanhu) reports from Rasoolullah (Sallallaa- hu-alayhi-wasallam) that when a person undresses for the purpose of either relieving himself or bathing or having relations with his spouse then the shaytaan interferes and plays with his or her private parts. But if he or she says Bismillah before taking off the clothes, then this serves as a barrier and safety against the shaytaan and jinn. (Tirmizi) OTHER WONDERS OF BISMILLAH Rasoolullah (Sallallaahu-alayhi-wasallam) is reported as saying that as long as people keep on saying Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem it will be a means of safeguarding them against sicknesses; a means of granting riches to the destitute; a means of freedom against the Fire; a means of safeguard against being swallowed by the earth; a means of safety against faces becoming distorted; and a means of safety from stones raining down from the heavens. (Ghunyatut Taalibeen Page 157) May Allah azzawajall forgive me if i have made any errors All Praises are for Allah azzawajall

    Excellence of Bismillah Shareef

Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi Sayyidina Jaabir is reported to have said that when Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem revealed, the clouds gave way by moving to the East, the winds ceased blowing, the oceans became calm, the creatures prepared themselves to listen, the shaytaan got pelted with fire from the heavens and Allah Ta'ala, swearing an oath by His honour, declared: Anyone who says this name of mine (ie. Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem) upon anything, I will surely impart barakah in that thing, (Durre Manthoor and Ibne Katheer) ________________________________________ "Bismillah" is the key to the Holy Quran and to all permissable actions. Any good deed that is commenced with the Bismillah is worthy of great reward. If any good action is not commenced with Bismillah, then that action remains incomplete. To recite it before any bad deed is forbidden. If one eats or drinks without reciting the Bismillah, the Shaitaan joins in the meal. When slaughtering an animal, one must say the words: "Bismillah Allahu Akbar." ________________________________________ It is one complete Ayah of the Holy Quran. But it is not the part of any Surah. With the exception of Surah Tauba, every other Surah commences with the Bismillah. When performing Taraweeh, it is necessary for the Hafiz to recite Bismillah aloud at least once. In Surah Naml, the Bismillah which appears is part of the Ayah. The excellence of the Bismillah being explained here refers to the Bismillah written before each Surah in the Quran except for Surah Tauba. ________________________________________ The Ulema have stated that there are 3 000 known Names of Allah. One thousand are known only to Angels, 1 000 to Ambiya, 300 names are in the Taurah, 300 in the Injeel, 300 in the Zaboor and 99 in the Holy Quran. In total there are 2 999 in number. One Name is only known to Allah which He informed Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). In the Bismillah, the Names "Allah," "Rahmaan" and "Raheem" are the basis of all the 3 000 Names. This, he who recites the Bismillah gets the blessings of reciting the 3 000 Names. It is in "Tafseer-e-Kabeer" that there are 19 alphabets in the Bismillah and the Angels of punishment in Jahannam are 19 in number. The hope is that through each Harf, each Angel of Azaab shall be passed. ________________________________________ When the Beloved Habeeb (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) went for Me'raj, he saw four rivers in Jannat - one of water, one of milk, one of wine (drink of Jannah) and one of honey. He questioned Sayyiduna Jibra'il (alaihis salaam) concerning these rivers, and he replied, "Pray and request to Allah so that He may inform you." On the Du'a of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), an Angel appeared. It made Salaam and said, "Ya Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam)! Close your eyes." When he opened his eyes, he was besides a building. The door of this building was made of gold and there was a lock on it and from under this building flowed rivers. When the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) decided to leave, the Angel requested him to enter the building. The Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said that there was a lock on the door. The Angels said that the keys were present. They then entered the building and saw that there were four pillars and on each pillar was written "Bismillah Hir Rahmaan Nir Raheem." He saw that a river of water flowed from the "Meem" of Bismillah, a river of milk flowed from the "Haa" of Allah, the river of wine flowed from the "Meem" of Rahmaan and a river of honey flowed from the "Meem" of Raheem. At that instance, Almighty Allah said, "O Beloved ! Any Believer of your Ummah who recites the Bismillah will be worthy of these four rivers." It is in "Tafseer Azeezi" that if one is faced with a calamity, he should read the Bismillah 12 000 times in this manner that he should read it 1 000 times then read two Rakaah Nafil Salaah. He should continue this procedure till he reaches 12 thousand. All in all, he will read 24 Rakaahs of Nafil Salaah. After completion, he should ask for his problems to be solved, and Insha-Allah, his Du'as will be accepted. ________________________________________ If a friend becomes an enemy, read Bismillah Hir Rahmaan Nir Raheem 786 times and blow on his food. Insha-Allah, he will become a friend again. Bismillah also has numerous other benefits

    "Speak good or be silent."

Allahumma salli 'ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Sayyidina Muhammad. Allahumma salli'ala Sayyidina Muhammadin'abdika wa nabiyyika wa rasulika n-nabiyyi L-ummiyyi wa'ala alihi wa sabihi wa sallim taslima,bi-qadri'adhmati dhatika fi-kulli waqtin wa-hin. Beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, said, "Let he who truly believes in Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and the Last Day, speak good or be silent." (Bukhari) Speech is the main method of communication among human beings, it is how we convey our desires and emotions. Our speech reflects our "true" personalities, because the tongue is the vessel from which the contents of the heart pour forth. If a person's heart is good and pure, good will be reflected in their speech. But, if a persons' heart is corrupted and evil, this too will be reflected in their speech. The tongue, if used correctly can be a source of a major blessing, and if it is used incorrectly, it can be a source of evil and a cause for eternal punishment, "Sometimes a person says a thing which pleases Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, and in return Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala raises his status (rewards him); and sometimes a person says something which displeases Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, and it takes him to hell." (Bukhari) Good speech is among the signs of true Imaan and it will be a source of success in the hereafter, as Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says, "The Believers are successful, those who in their prayer have Khushu' (fear of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) and those who refrain from vain speech." [23:1-3] The Prophet Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam, has also warned us regarding leaving our tongues unrestrained. Many of Muslims don't enter into conversations or discussions intending to commit major sins, yet very often even lawful talking leads to undesirable results. This is a common pitfall for many Muslims, especially those who indulge in idle and unnecessary talk. The main consequence of vain and indecent speech is that it puts one under the threat of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala's punishment. Among the other consequences is that it corrupts and hardens the heart, it has been known to sever the ties of kinship and has also brought about the premature end to many friendships. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, has given us the ability to perform both good and indecent speech. He has also put in man the fitrah to choose the former over the latter, His Pleasure from His Displeasure. Speech is a blessing from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, we must show gratitude for this great blessing by using it for spreading the 'Salam,' reading the Qur'an/Darood Shareef, enjoining good, forbidding evil, sincerely advising our brothers and sisters in faith and in all other things that bring us closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. May we all try to act upon this advice ameen.

    Ahadis..

After the Words of Allah [The Holy Quran], there is nothing more highly regarded in Islam than the 'Hadeeth' of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Hadeeth are considered the companion to the Quran and the only acceptable way to interpret the Word of Allah to mankind. Together the Holy Quran and the Hadeeth of Muhammad, peace be upon him, make up the basis for the Shari'ah of Islam [islamic Law]. Linguistically, the Arabic word 'hadeeth' (also spelled 'hadith' in English) means 'a saying' or 'a story'. The plural is not 'hadeeths' but rather, 'ahadith'. This can mean any stories about any subject. It is recorded that the prophet, peace be upon him, even used the word himself when referring to the Book of Allah, the Holy Quran, by saying: "Fa innal asdaqal hadeethi Kitab-ullah." which means "So certainly the most truthful sayings are (from) the Book of Allah" When the words 'hadeeth' or 'ahadith' are used in regard to the religion of Islam, then they take on a more precise meaning, and is then understood to mean: "Those sayings, narrations, traditions, actions and stories which contain some reference to the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him." Some of the apologists, detractors and enemies of Islam would have one think that the 'ahadith' came much after the passing away of the Prophet , peace be upon him, and that they have no importance and authority in Islam and Shari'ah [islamic Law]. Nothing could be further from the truth. As a matter of fact, the authority for the 'ahadith' originates in the Holy Quran itself. The sayings and actions of Prophet peace be upon Him were carefully noted and memorized. Many thousands of 'ahadith' were collected dealing with topics such as religious faith, purification, fasting, pilgrimage, trading transactions, inheritance, punishment, warfare, animal sacrifice, food, clothing, manners, Paradise and Hell. Before authenticating any of the Ahadis, the Muhad'diseen (scholars of 'ahadith') minutely examined each text (matn) and each chain of transmitters (isnad). For example the isnad (chain), Yahyah-Hammad-Hisham~'Urwah~A'isha shows that mother of beleivers A'isha raziAllah anha was the witness and passed it on to 'Urwah, who passed it on to Hisham, etc. The three main divisions of 'ahadith' are * Sahih (sound) * Hasan (good) * Da'ieef (weak)
  9. THE Companions of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, were like no other humans that lived or will ever live on this earth. They welcomed the Prophet as the Last Messenger of Allah and declared their faith, one by one, in Allah as the One and Only Lord of this World without so much a flinching. They fought for Islam when Muslims were clearly the minority and under the threat of extinction when Islam first took root in the deserts of Arabia. The noble Companions sacrificed their lives, families and every human comfort imaginable simply for the sake of Allah. The Prophet said this of his noble Companions who fought alongside him in many battles to ensure that the last message from Allah would be spread far and wide: “Fear Allah; fear Allah and (Refrain from using bad language) about my Companions! (He said it twice) Do not make them the target of your attacks after me! Whoever loves them, loves them on account of his love of me; whoever hates them, hates them on account of his hatred of me. He who maligns them, has maligned me, and he who maligns me, has maligned Allah, and it is embedment that Allah punishes those who malign him.” (Tirmidhi) One of the noblest Companions was named Habib ibn Zayd Al Ansari. He was born into a distinguished family with his father being one of the first people to convert to the new religion of Islam and his mother went down in Islamic history as the very first female to fight in battle to defend Islam and the Prophet. Habib pledged his allegiance to the Prophet as a young boy and declared his faith in Allah Almighty. The Muslims, at this point in time, were facing threats from all sides and there were several battles that were bravely fought the most notable being the Battles of Badr and Uhud. Habib desperately wanted to fight alongside the other believers, as his faith was unshakeable. However, he was too young and was forced to stand on the sidelines unable to defend his people or his faith. Regardless, simply watching the bravery of the Muslim fighters in battle had an effect on Habib’s heart, which would strengthen his faith and love for Allah and His Messenger. In the 9th year following the Hijrah, a delegation from Najd came to Makkah to speak with the Prophet. At this time, Islam had already spread so rapidly that Muslims were the majority in Arabia and were a force to be reckoned with. The leader of the delegation, Musaylamah ibn Habib, declared to the Prophet in person that not only he but also his entire tribe believed in the Message of Islam and wanted to declare their faith publicly. The Prophet welcomed them with open arms and indeed all the members of the delegation recited the Islamic Declaration of Faith (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the Final Messenger). The delegation soon mounted their horses and journeyed back to Najd to supposedly tell the entire city about the new faith of Islam and encourage everyone to embrace it. However, things took a sinister turn when Musaylamah went back and declared he too was Allah’s messenger and that the people should follow him. In utter disobedience to Allah and the Declaration of Faith they just took in Makkah, the entire delegation renounced Islam and extolled Musaylamah as Allah’s messenger. As his people rallied around him in adoration, Musaylamah’s heart burst with power and pride. He immediately wrote a letter to the Last Prophet and sent two horsemen to deliver it to Makkah. The letter said this: “From Musaylamah, the messenger of God to Muhammad, the messenger of God. Peace be on you. I am prepared to share this mission with you. I shall have (control over) half the land and you shall have the other half. But the Quraysh are an aggressive people.” The Prophet was understandably upset. He replied: “In the name of Allah, from Muhammad the Messenger of Allah to the imposter Musaylamah, peace be upon who follows the guidance of Allah who will give the Earth to whichever servants He wills and those who are dutiful to Allah will be victorious.” The Prophet dispatched the letter with two of his Companions who delivered it to Musaylamah in Najd. Musaylamah ignored the letter and continued to promote himself as a Prophet of Allah. Musyalamah’s corruption, evil and deceit grew so immense that the Prophet decided to send him yet another letter asking him to give up his evil deed of leading people away from the truth which is undoubtedly Islam. This time the Prophet sent Habib, who was still enjoying his youth, to deliver the letter to Najd and he did. Upon reading the letter, Musaylamah became so furious that he ordered his henchman to arrest Habib and lock him up. He ordered that all the people of the tribe attend a grand assembly in which Habib, in shackles, was the centre of attention. He then asked Habib if he believed Muhammad (peace be upon him) was Allah’s Final Messenger. Habib replied in affirmative. Then Musaylamah demanded Habib also declare his faith in Musaylamah as a Prophet too. Habib replied simply, “My ears cannot hear what you are saying.” Musaylamah was so enraged that he ordered his men to cut off one of Habib’s arms. He did. Musaylamah posed the same question. Habib again replied he could not hear what he was saying. Again, another one of Habib’s limbs was severed. This process went on with Habib bleeding in pain and agony as he was simultaneously cut to pieces until he finally died declaring his faith in Allah and Muhammad (peace be upon him). Musaylamah’s treachery eventually caught up with him as the Muslim army finally killed him during the Battle of Yamamah where Habib’s own mother participated in battle alongside the men. How many Muslims today can show the strength and courage Companion Habib, may Allah accept his sacrifice, showed as he stared death right in the face? Is death a beautiful gift for a believer?

Is death a beautiful gift for a believer? Yes, it is indeed a beautiful gift. Once Syedna Ibrahim asked Malakul Maut, Hazrat Izraael to show their form with which they appear in front of the one who is being departed, a believer and a sinner/Non-Muslim. Malakul Maut asked them to turn around. They did, When Syedna Ibrahim turned back and looked at Malakul Maut, they said,'O Izraael! If a person saw you in this state, he will certainly faint.' indicating the horror of their appearance that they looked fierce and balls of fire were coming out from each of their hair. Then, Malakul Maut asked Syedna Ibrahim to turn around. When they looked at Malakul Maut this time, they said,'O Izraael! If a crying person saw you in this state, he will start smiling.' Their former state is adopted when they head towards a Non-Muslim or a sinner while the latter is adopted when they come to a Momin Muslim. It is also stated that they will pull the soul of a Non-Muslim or a sinner severely, breaking the ribs of his body, while a Momin will only feel it like a pinch. I have two very beautiful incidents in my mind relating to the topic. My father told me some time back that someone they knew were always found reading Durood-e-Paak. A few years back, the news of their death reached my father. Their children said that when their father was on their death bed, they proclaimed, 'Help me up! Help me up! The Holy Prophet has arrived!' Allah-o-Akbar! Subhan Allah! Blessed are they! When they were helped into a sitting position, their soul flew away with The Blessed Sight of The Holy Prophet in their eyes! May Allah Azzawajal Bless us all with such a death that The Holy Prophet may be in front of our eyes and we will be reciting Salaat-o-Salaam! Aameen Allahumma Aameen! Another incdent which my mother read out from a book was that an Aashiq-e-Rasool was Blessed with the Sight of The Holy Prophet in his dream and asked them, 'Ya Rasool Allah ! It has come to my knowledge that the pain of death is very severe and this news has distressed me!' The Holy Prophet's Blessed lips moved fragranting the scene and they said, 'Yes, that is true! But, my Ushaaq will not feel anything. When they will be departing, I will appear in front of them and they will be dissolved in my Blessed sight, which will not let them feel the pain of death and will be praising,'My Lord Has Created you like none other! May My parents be ransomed for you Ya Rasool Allah !....' Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji'oon Subhan Allah! Allah-o-Akbar! Ya Rasool Allah ! May my parents, family and generations be ransomed for you! Bas itna karam karna, aey chashm-e-kareemana Jab jaan labon par ho, tum saamnay aajaana Aameen Allahumma Aameen! Jazak Allah
  11. Selection from the letters of Mawlay al-'Arabi al-Imām al-Darqawi radī Allāhu anhu I strongly advise you to follow the Prophetic Sunnāh and to remember your Lord whenever your state is constricted and whenever it is expansive. You should say the prayer upon you Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم. This is because if you are like this, then you will truly be the slaves of Allāh. Whoever is truly the slave of Allāh is not the slave of his passion. He is a wali of Allāh. Take care, Again, I repeat - take care! Be careful not to do anything to distract you from your Lord since there is nothing in reality excep Allāh. "Allāh was and there is nothing with Him, He is now as He was" Know that when a man has need of something, that is because of his ignorance and lack of knowledge. If it had not been for his ignorance, he would not need anything except Allāh. The Mighty Qurān and hadith of the Prophet both testify to this. Listen to the answer of the saint of Allāh, Sayyidi Sahl at-Tustari, to one of his murids who said to him, "Master - food!" He told him, "Allāh"... the Murid remained silent for a while and then said, "We must have food". He told him, "We must have Allāh". I say that, by Allāh, in reality we and others have no need except Allāh. If we are His, He is ours as in the past with others - He was theirs if they were His. I advise you to always keep together and to remind one another in your Path throughout your entire lifetime as those before you have done. Take care! Again, I repeat - take care! Be careful not to try to hasten an opening as some of you and others seek to do. If you do that, you will miss the excellence of the path and its blessings, secrets, baraka and bliss, because when someone wants to pluck something before it is permissible for him, that results in him being deprived of it. It is absolutely necessary that you keep together and have respect and esteem for one another. You should honour one another and have esteem for one another. Fulfil the contract of Allāh when you make a contract. Love one another and show affection to one another as the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم said. Be on your guard against being foolish and insolent and against treachery, dishonesty or abandoning the path. Allāh gives success. Know that concern for a thing is something immense. We and you have no concern except for Allāh's favour to us. The "man" (rajul) denotes the one who does not lack strength; is not lazy and does not slack off. He fights his nafs. He gives it a little of the things which it hates and are burdensome fro it until it is annihilated. "Annihilation is obliteration, disappearance, leaving your nafs, extinction," as the wali Sayyidi Abū'l-Mawahib t Tunisi said in his Qawanin. Peace. Faqir, the secret action is seventy times better than the public action, as is reported in tradition. Allāh knows best, but we think that the circles of dhikr which our brothers, the fuqara', hold public - standing and sitting in zawwiyas and in houses, in isolated places and inhabited places - is in the same position as the secret action since this age is in an age of heedlessness. Heedlessness has overwhelmed people and taken hold of their hearts and limbs. It has left them deaf, dumb and blind. They have no intellect. Fervour for the deen has suffered in a similar way and thus making dhikr public and well known is better than concealing it, especially the circle of dhikr. It has great excellence and a clear secret since the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم said, "When you pass by one of the meadows of Paradise, graze there" He was asked "Messenger of Allāh, what are the meadows of Paradise?" "Circles of dhikr" he replied. And the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم said "There is no group of people who gather together to do dhikr of Allāh, only desiring Allāh's face by that, but that a caller calls to them from heaven, "Arise forgiven! Your evil actions have been transformed into good actions," I told this to our brother in Allāh, the Sufi scholar and sharif, Abū'l-'Abbas Sayyidi Ahmad ibn 'Ajiba al-Manjari radī Allāhu anhu. He found it excellent and did not dislike it. Peace

Six Attacks by Shaytaan - Ten Defenses

Six Attacks by Shaytaan - Ten Defenses The evil of Shaytaan is limited to six categories, he continues [to assault] mankind until he succeeds in one or more of them: 1) The evil of polytheism and disbelief. 2) Then innovations. 3) Next are the major sins. 4) Then the minor sins. 5) Subsequently, busying people with practicing Mubahaat [Actions that one is neither ordered to do or prohibited from performing specifically] 6) Next is busying them with practicing deeds which are good instead of deeds which are better. The reasons that safeguard a servant from the Shaytaan are ten: 1) Seeking refuge with Allaah from him. 2) Reading al Mu'awathatain [ Surat an Nas and Surat al Falaq]. 3) Reading Ayatul Kursi. 4) Reading Surat al Baqarah. 5) Reading the ending of Surat al Baqarah [last two verses]. 6) The believer reading from the beginning of {Haa Meem.} until {to Him is the final return.} [Ghafir: 1-3]. 7) Saying what translated means: 'There is no deity worthy of worship but Allaah, alone having no partners, to him belongs the dominion, to him belongs all praise, and He has the ability to do all things.' One hundred times. 8) Practicing the remembrance of Allaah a lot. 9) Performing ablution along with prayers. 10) Refraining from supernumerary (extra) looking around, talking, eating and mixing with people.

    Madni Bahar

Madani bahaar of an Islamic brother (From England) One Islamic Brother from England has stated as under: I pray Allah azzawajal prevents me from rayakaari. I have written this madani bahaar with sole intention that someone might walk the right path by reading/listening to it. I do not want my own advertisement. For this purpose I am keeping my identity a secret and I request all those brothers, who might know who I am, not to reveal my identity to anybody. You can use this story to encourage other muslims to join the environment of Dawat-e-Islami. I never used to say my prayers and for a long period of time even used to miss Jumma prayer. I listened to music, believing that it nourishes your sole. I was clean shaven and would go to cinema on regular basis. I was completely unaware of the sins I was committing. Did not even know that missing your five times prayer is a major sin. I was committing this sin five times a day and yet I strongly believed that I am better than lots of other people who do pray but at the same time they lie, backbite and hurt feelings of other people. I never even knew that shaving your beard is a Haraam act. I was committing this haraam act 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, openly in front of every one. I was leading a so called "NORMAL LIFE" that you would expect in this culture i.e. having fun and chilling out. In short, Shaitaan had full control over me and he was making me do all these sinful acts presenting these sins to me as something good. My brother was attached to Dawat-e-Islami environment. I did not like that at all. Along with other family members we stopped him from attending the weekely gatherings of Dawat-e-Islami in (City X). We also stopped him from travelling to madani kaafilaa's on the weekends. I even asked him to leave the madani environement of Dawat-e-Islami. He, however, continued his slow and gradual individual effort on me by inviting me to come to Masjid to say prayers. I always told him "I do not have time" and yet I had the time to go to cinema, I had the time to listen to music, I had the time to watch a DVD for 3 hours, but making time to go to Masjid seemed like an impossible task. Then something happened in last Ramadhan (2006). During the blessed month I started to pray on regular basis. I listened to few speeches by Sunni Ulamma and along with individual effort from my brother I made the intention that I will try to continue my prayers after Ramadhan as well. Once Ramadhan finished my brother gave me Tafseer-e-Na'eemi to read. I was a final year student at university and My studies demanded so much hard work. However, with the blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَل, I would do my studies and still I would find few hours everyday to read Tafseer-e-Na'eemi. Gradually my heart started to melt by reading the tafseer. However, I was still listening to music, I was still shaving and I was still going to cinema. My prayers were not preventing me from committing these haraam acts. Something was still missing. My brother went for the Hajj. Before leaving he gave me Faizaan-e-Sunnat to study and asked me to read the chapter on beard. I was so overtaken by reading this chapter that it brought tears in my eyes but still shaitaan prevented me from decorating this beautiful sunnah on my face. One day out of nowhere, I plucked the courage and decided never to shave again. I am sure my brother was praying for me in Makkah Mukarrama at the same time. When he came back from the Hajj, I was no longer clean shaven. I had grown this beautiful sunnah of the beloved prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم. Shaitaan was still putting thoughts in my head that what had I done, I should shave. My family commented you are not going to find a decent girl to marry you now. I said to them, I do not class a girl decent who does not like the beard. The decent girl for me would be the one who loves the Sunnah of beloved prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم. What made me give such an answer ? It was the love of the beloved prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم. Who put this love in my heart??? I strongly believe that prayers of my brother and his individual effort were a big factor in this. I was now studying Faizaan-e-Sunnat and other rasa'il (books) of Dawat-e-Islami. Through further efforts of my brother I became a mureed of Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat. However, I still had not coloured myself in the madani environment of Dawat-e-Islami. Alhamdo-lillah Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat had special blessings on me and came in my dream a few times. Each time there was a message for me to join Dawat-e-Islami. Once in my dream Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat put his blessed hand on my head, prayed something and then showered my face with his blessed breath. Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat then said I want you to do dars and bayaan. Just think back, only a few months ago I was clean shaven, I listened to music, I watched movies, I had no time to go to Masjid and stopped my brother from activities of Dawat-e-Islami. Now I had an Imaama shareef on my head, I had grown a beard on my face, I wore the madani dress. Instead of listening to music, I now listen to Naats and bayaanaats of Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat. Instead of going to cinema I now go to Madani kaafilas on the weekend (once every month). Instead of wasting my time in sinful activities I now do dars and bayaan on regular basis. My worldly education had filled me with pride but Dawat-e-Islaami taught me aajizi. I was in love with mortal pleasures of the World but Dawat-e-Islami instilled in me the love of our beloved prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم. I used to put so much emphasis on this material world but now I place all emphsasis on preparing for the world here-after. Who is to be credited for this transformation ? The answer is simple. Prayers of my brother have earned me the blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَل and Ameer-e-ehleSunnat is the waseela of this transformation. My story is not finished yet. There is a common misbelief among people that brothers of Dawat-e-Islami are free. They don't work. They don't have families to provide for, which is why they can give their time to do all the religious work, and we cannot. My respected brothers in Islam, this is a shaitaani waswassa. Shaitaan does not want you to spend your time in the way of Allah Azzawajal which is why he puts this thought in your mind. Almost all of us work, we do have families and children to provide for, we have all the duties of the world that you have to do. However, We have come over this waswasa of shaitaan and with the blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَل we make time for it all. If I can make time for it all, then I am sure most of you can. Alhamdo-lillah I am a doctor and with special blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَل I manage to do dars on regular basis, I manage to do bayan in ilaakaayi ijtimmah, I regularly attend weekly ijtimmah of Dawat-e-Islami in (City X). Once a month I also go for a weekend Madani Qafila. I am not the only doctor in Dawat-e-Islami. Alhamdolillah there are many more doctors I know of who have colured themselves in this madani environment. There are also lawyers and businessmen in Dawat-e-Islami. If you want the madani transformation in your life, if you want the peace and tranquality in your life, if you want to replace the mortal pleasures of this world with immortal bounties of Heaven, and if you want to instill in your heart the Love of the beloved prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْه وَاٰله وَسَلَّم, then I invite you to join Dawat-e-Islami. Come and see with your own eyes the Faiz of Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat. Salluuuu alal Habib Salallaho ala Muhammad(salallaho alehe wasallam)

    The Tongue and the Heart

As-salato as-salamo alaika Ya Rasulallah Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu Whoever believes in Allah and the last day should speak good or keep silent [sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim] The tongue expresses what is in the heart. If a persons heart is good you see it in their saying. If the tongue is used correctly then it has its blessing but if used incorrectly it has its dangers. Allah (subhanahu wa Ta'ala) has given us this tool (the tongue) to communicate and it is a blessing form Allah (subhanahu wa Ta'ala) which must be used correctly. The gratitude we should show for this great blessing should include, using it for the obedience to Allah (subhanahu wa Ta'ala), for reading the Quran (and good Islamic materials), for speaking good, such as, enjoining good and forbidding the evil and in teaching the ignorant, in Dhikr, in worship, in sincere advice to our brothers and sisters and in many other things which enable us to get closer to Allah (subhanahu wa Ta'ala). It is true that ONE saying may enter a person into the fire and one saying may save a person from the fire and enter one into paradise. The prohibitions of the tongue are that you do not lie, abuse, use foul language, backbite, and do not slander. The tongue is protected by the teeth and then the lips which should act as a prison when indulging in loose talk. Allah (subhanahu wa Ta'ala) says in the Qur'an: Successful indeed are the believers. Those who offer their prayers with all solemnity and full submissiveness. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden) [Al-Mu'minun 23:1-3] Here Allah (subhanahu wa Ta'ala) mentions the words "turn away from" not "leave" which shows that, refraining from vain talk is a characteristic of the believers. Imam Shafi(Rehmatullahalaih) said, "If you wish to speak then it is upon you to think before you speak. If you think there is good in it then you should speak and if not then do not speak." One searching for salvation against vain talk should ask themselves: Will this saying of mine please Allah (Ta'ala)? Will this saying of mine bring me closer to Allah (Ta'ala)? Does this saying earn with it obedience to Allah (Ta'ala)? If so then speak otherwise on should keep silent. Sahl ibn Sa'ad (radiAllahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: "Whomever guards what is between his jaws and legs, I will guarantee him paradise." [sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim]
  15. [Cited by Imam Qadi Iyad in his Shifa] Part of respect for the Holy Prophet and devotion to him is devotion to his family, his descendants and his wives, the Mothers of the Believers,(RadiAllahuanhumajamaeen) as he urged and as the Salaf (Early Muslims) did. The Prophet said about 'Ali , "Whoever has me for a master, 'Ali (RadiAllahuanhu)is his master. O Allah, befriend the one who befriends him oppose the one who opposes him!" [ibn Hanbal] He also said to him, "Only a believer will love you and only a hypocrite will hate you." [Muslim] He said to al-Abbas,(RadiAllahuanhu) "By the One who has my soul in His hand, belief will not enter a man's heart until he loves Allah and His Messenger. Whoever harms my uncle (RadiAllahuanhu)has harmed me. A man's uncle is his father." [At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah] Abu Bakr (RadiAllahuanhu) said, "Respect Muhammad by respecting the People of his House." He also said, "By the One who has my soul in His hand, the near kin of the Messenger of Allah are dearer to me than my own kinsfolk." 'Uqba ibn al-Harith (RadiAllahuanhu)said, "I saw Abu Bakr (RadiAllahuanhu) putting al-Hasan (RadiAllahuanhu) on his shoulders saying, "By my farther, he resembles the Prophet He does not resemble 'Ali!" 'Ali (RadiAllahuanhu) was laughing." The Prophet said to Umm Salama,(RadiAllahuanha) "Do not injure me by injuring 'A'isha.(RadiAllahuanha)" [Al-Bukhari] When 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (RadiAllahuanhu)alloted his son 'Abdullah (RadiAllahuanhu)3000 and Usama ibn Zayd (RadiAllahuanhu) 3500, 'Abdullah (RadiAllahuanhu)said to his father, "Why did you give him more than me? By Allah, he did not get to the battle ahead of me!" He said, "Because Zayd (RadiAllahuanhu)was dearer to the Messenger of Allah than your father,(RadiAllahuanhu) and Usama (RadiAllahuanhu)was dearer to him than you, so I prefered the love of the Messenger of Allah to my love." Ash-Shab'i said, "Zayd ibn Thabit prayed in his mother's funeral prayer and then brought his mule near so he could mount it. Ibn 'Abbas came and took hold of the stirrup. Zayd(RadiAllahuanhu) said, 'Let go, nephew of the Messenger of Allah ' He said, ' This is the way we act with men of knowledge.' Then Zayd (RadiAllahuanhu) kissed the hand of Ibn 'Abbas.(RadiAllahuanhu) He said, 'This is the way I was commanded to act with the people of the House of the Prophet .'

    Between life and death

Between life and death A man slipped down from the brink of a deep well. Fortunately, a plant had grown in the wall of the well, and while falling down his hands clutched a branch of that plant. After the initial shock, he began looking up and down. What he saw, was enough to make him scared. A huge serpent, in the depth of the well, was waiting for him to fall down. Desperately, he decided to remain where he was and then saw, to his horror, that two mice - one black, another white - were busy cutting the root of that plant. He lost his hope. Then he looked up, and his heart was full of hope. He was not very far from the rim of the well and, by a little judicious effort could reach to safety very easily. Then he saw a beehive in that plant. And forgetting his tragic position, he began eating the honey. Of course, the bees did not like it and began stinging him, but he remained oblivious of all the troubles. A short time after, the mice succeeded in cutting the plant down and he fell in the mouth of the serpent. We are that man; this world is that well; the plant in midway is our life; which is being coded away by every passing night and day - the black and white mice; death is the serpent waiting for us. The honey represents the pleasantries of this world, for which we quarrel with other people- the bees, and are bitten by them. What makes our plight more tragic is the fact that rescue is never very far. It just requires a little effort on our path to reach the safety and security provided by the loving care of Allah. We may easily reach to God and be safe forever. Or, on the other hand, we may be destroyed by death. The choice is ours.

    Ahadith On Islamic Manners

Ahadith On Islamic Manners Adorn yourselfs with the attributes of almighty ALLAH Actions depend upon intentions. Every person will be rewarded according to his intentions. Things forbidden by islamic law can not be considered lawful by good intentions, e.g. Stealing cant be made lawful with the intention of charity. (Bukhari & Muslim) A man of faith does not eat his fill to the neglect of his neighbour. (Bukhari & Muslim) As water extinguishes the fire, charity removes the sins. (Ahmed & Tirmizi) Eat with your right hand and drink with your right hand as well. (Muslim) Allah will not bless the person on the Day of Judgement who, owing to his haughtiness, keeps his trousers below his ankles. (Bukhari Muslim) Should I not tell you a thing that when you adopt it, you will start loving each other. It is to make greeting more and more common amongst you. (Muslim) The closest to Allah is one who greets others first. (Ahmed & Tirmizi) He who greets first is free from haughtiness. Of your names, Abdullah and Abdur Rahman are the most favourate to Allah. (Muslim) One who assures me of his tongue and private parts, i assure him Paradise. (Bukhari) Who kept silent, is saved. (Tirmizi & Ahmad) Backbiting is worse than adultery. (Bayhaqi) There is no such fortunate child who looks at his parents with love, but a reward of a perfect hajj(pilgrimage) is written in his account by Allah Almighty. Companions of the Holy Prophet asked him, what if he looks at them hundred times a day. Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) replied, Sure, Allah is the greatest and the purest. (Bayhaqi) Allah would not be Kind to one, who is not kind to people. (Bukhari & Muslim) None of you can get the perfect state of imaan (conviction) until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself. (Bukhari and Muslim transmitted it on the authority of Abu Hamza Anas bin Malik) The worst among the people in the Judgement day will be the man who destroys his Akhirah (life hereafter) for duniya (This worldly life) of others. (Ibn Majah) He who offers favours or withholds them and loves or hates for the sake of Allah has, indeed, perfected his faith. ( Abu Dawud transmitted it on the authority of Abu Umamah) Muslim is one from whose hands and tongue other Muslims are safe. (Bukhari transmitted it on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr) Two failings can never co- exist in a true believer miserliness and ill- disopition. (Bukhari, Abu Dawud and Tirmizi transmitted it on the authority of Abu Said) He who is not thankful to man is not thankful to Allah. (Tirmizi transmitted it on the authority of Abu Said) Back biter will never enter in paradise. (Bukhari & Muslim) Faith is patience and open heartedness. (Ahmad, Mishkat) A believer does not commit the same mistake twice. (Bukahor and Muslim transmitted it on the authority of Abu Hurayrah) Attending a meeting casts an obligation to guard its secrets. (Abu Dawud transmitted it on the authority of Jabir) Getting up late impedes earning of livelihood. (Musnad Ahmed Bin Hambal)
  18. Assalamualaikum Warehmatullahe Wabaraqatohu It is a must that we strive to know Islam. Allâh’s Messenger (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam, meaning: May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to the whole mankind encourages us to acquire knowledge of Islam in order to comprehend it. He says in the following authentic Ahâdith: Abu Hurairah (radhiallâhu anhu, meaning: May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that... the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “Those who were the best in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance will be the best in Islam provided they comprehend the religious knowledge.” (Bukhâri 4/572 and Muslim) ‘Abdur Rahmân ibn Abi Bakrah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated on the authority of his father that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “If Allâh wants to do good to a person, he makes him comprehend the religion; and of course knowledge is attained by learning.” (Bukhâri 1/67) Mu‘awiyah ibn Abi Sufyân narrated that Allâh’s Messenger said, “Goodness is a (natural) habit while the evil is a stubbornness. To whomsoever Allâh wills to show goodness, He favors him with the understanding in the Religion.” (Ibn Mâjah, 1/221) When we study Islam or at least read the Qur’an and the authentic Ahâdith we learn that Islam is easy, complete and the perfect religion as well as way of life for the whole mankind. We read in the Qur’an and the Ahâdith the following unique features of Islam: 1. Islam is easy: “But whoever believes and works righteousness he shall have a goodly reward and easy will be his task as We order it by Our command.” (Qur'an 18:88) Abu Hurairah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “Religion (Islam) is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by offering the prayers in the mornings, afternoons and during the last hours of the nights.” (Bukhâri 1/38) Anas bin Malik (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "Make things easy for the people, and do not make it difficult for them, and make them calm (with glad tidings) and do not repulse (them).” (Bukhâri,8/146) 2. Islam is complete: “…He it is Who has sent unto you the Book, explained in detail. They know full well, to whom We have given the Book, that it has been sent down from your Rabb in truth. Never be then of those who doubt.” (6:114) “For We had certainly sent unto them a Book based on knowledge, which We explained in detail -- a guide and a mercy to all who believe.” (7:52) “…(This is ) a Book with verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning) -- further explained in detail -- from One Who is Wise and Well-Acquainted (with all things).” (11:1) 3. Islam is perfect: “...This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” (5:3) As the perfect religion, Islam teaches mankind how to attain success in the most perfect way. The following are some of the Ahâdith that serve as enlightenment and guidance to those who desire for perfection: Abu Hurairah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "Goodness and comfort are for him who worships his Rabb in a perfect manner and serves his master sincerely.” (Bukhari 3/725) Ibn Umar (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that Allâh’s Messenger (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "If a slave is honest and faithful to his master and worships his Rabb (Allâh) in a perfect manner, he will get a double reward.” (Bukhari 3/722) Abu Hurairah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "Whoever believes in Allâh and His Messenger, offers prayers perfectly and fasts (the month of) Ramadan then it is incumbent upon Allâh to admit him into Paradise, whether he emigrates for Allâh’s cause or stays in the land where he was born.” They (the companions of the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "O Allâh’s Messenger (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam)! Should we not inform the people of that?" He said, "There are one-hundred degrees in Paradise which Allâh has prepared for those who carry on Jihad in His Cause. The distance between every two degrees is like the distance between the sky and the Earth. So if you ask Allâh for anything, ask Him for the Firdaus, for it is the last part of Paradise and the highest part of Paradise, and at its top there is the Throne of Beneficent, and from it gush forth the rivers of Paradise.” (Bukhari 9/519) Abdullah ibn Hisham (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated: “We were with the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) and he was holding the hand of 'Umar bin Al-Khattab. 'Umar said to Him, "O Allâh’s Messenger! You are dearer to me than everything except my own self.” The Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "No, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, (you will not have complete or perfect faith) till I am dearer to you than your own self.” Then 'Umar said to him, "However, now, by Allâh, you are dearer to me than my own self.” The Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "Now, O 'Umar, you are a believer.” (Bukhari 8/628) Abu Hurairah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said: “The most perfect believer in respect of faith is he who is best of them in manners.” (Abu Dawud 4665) Abu Humamah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said: “If anyone loves for Allâh’s sake, hates for Allâh’s sake, gives for Allâh’s sake and withholds for Allâh’s sake, he will have perfect faith.” (Abu Dawud 4664) Abu Hurairah (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said: “Among the Muslims the most perfect, as regards his faith, is the one whose character is excellent, and the best among you are those who treat their wives well.” (Tirmidhi 278, 628, 3264 and Abu Dawud) Aishah (Radhiallâhu anha) narrated that Allâh’s Messenger (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, "Among the believers who show most perfect faith are those who have the best disposition, and are kindest to their families.” (Tirmidhi 3263) All the above Prophetic teachings in addition to the Qur’anic Ayât (Verses) earlier quoted clearly tell us that indeed, Islam is the perfect religion and hence the best way of life for all. Islam as a universal religion is Allah’s Blessing and Mercy for all of us. It is for us to enjoy it and be successful in the eternal world to come. The best way to attain success through Islam is to learn it according to its authentic Sources. That is, to acquire knowledge of Islam through the Qur’an and the Sunnah and the right deductions from these revealed Sources of Knowledge and Guidance. Since Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) is the One Who gives guidance, earnestly ask Him for authentic Islamic knowledge. We must seek His help and guidance to be able to apply such knowledge and share them to others – all for His Pleasure. May our Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer) increase our knowledge of Islam and enjoy the best life of being true Muslims forever. Ameen.
  19. Assalamo alaikum warehmatullahe wabaraqatohu Durood.. The Prophet (sallal laahu alaihewasallam) listens Hadith 1 Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihewasallam) said, "Without doubt, there is an Angel of Almighty Allah whom Allah has given power to listen to the voices of all the people. Whenever any persons reads a Durood Shareef, this Angel delivers the Durood Shareef to me. I then plead to Almighty Allah for the person to receive ten blessing for reading a single Durood Shareef". (Jaami'us Sagheer) Hadith 2 Sayyiduna Abu Darda (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Increase the Durood Shareef on the Day of Jummah for it is a Day of Witnessing. It is a day when the Durood Shareef is presented to me. For that person who reads the Durood Shareef, his voice reaches me wherever he is". When it was inquired as to whether he would hear the voice even after leaving this world, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihe wasallam) replied, "Yes, even after I have departed because Almighty Allah has made it Haraam upon the earth to devour the bodies of the Ambiya". (Jalaa'ilul Ifhaam) Hadith 3 It is reported that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihe wasallam) was once asked about those who read the Durood Shareef after he had passed away. He replied, "I listen personally to the Durood Shareef of those who love me, while the Durood Shareef of others is presented to me". (Al Qolul Badi) Hadith 4 Sayyiduna Abu Amaama (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihe wasallam) said, "Almighty Allah has promised me that after I pass away, He will give me the power to listen to every person who reads the Durood Shareef, even though I will be in Madinatul Munawwarah and my followers will be the East and West. O Abu Amaama, the entire creation has been placed in my tomb and I will see and hear all creation. He who reads the Durood Shareef ten times will receive a hundred rewards in return". (Durratun Naasiheen) Hadith 5 If anybody reads 100 Durood Shareef on Thursday evening then according to Ahadith, 70 necessities will be met in this life and 30 in the Hereafter On every Thursday Allah Almighty sends Angels to the earth in the afternoon. They have silver leaves and golden pens which they use to record the Durood Shareef of the reciter from that afternoon of Thursday till the sunset of Friday.[11] The Beloved Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (sallal laahu alaihe wasallam) informed the Ummah, that reading Durood Shareef on Thursday night and Friday is presented to him. The Beloved Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (sallal laahu alaihe wasallam) has also informed us the best way to have our prayers answered, and that is to start with and end with Durood Shareef.
